COSPLAY CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS--Contestants may enter in either one of two categories, Adult (SATURDAY ONLY CONTEST) or Youth (SUNDAY ONLY CONTEST).
--ADULT 17 AND UP
--YOUTH 16 AND UNDER
--YOU CAN SIGN UP AT THE CON, NO FEE.
--TO WIN THE BEST GROUP COSPLAY YOU MAY ALSO MIX AGES WITH ADULTS AND KIDS. YOU MUST BE A GROUP THOUGH. (EXAMPLE: ADULTS CONTEST CAN HAVE ADULTS AND KIDS IN THE GROUP, BUT CAN ONLY WIN THE BEST GROUP AWARD AND VISA-VERSA WITH THE KIDS COSPLAY CONTEST).
--A sheet will be given to you to be filled out at the front desk (by the ticket tables) please take it with you and show up 10 minutes before the contest walk-on at the Cosplay Contest. Line will be at the front of the stage by the steps
--NO PRE-JUDGING! Plattsburgh Comic Con and it's community don't believe in someone prejudging your cosplay. Your cosplay is your cosplay and the professional judges will decide on stage. You will be called up on the stage one at a time.
--During the event itself, you will be required to get on stage to show off your costume. You can do this in a number of ways, and it is up to you how creative you get. However, we do ask that you limit your performance to NO MORE THAN 1 MINUTES. If you exceed that time limit, you will be asked to stop immediately.
--You will be allowed to be judged as an individual or as a group, but please specify ahead of time which you will be competing as.
--The judges will be awarding prizes on each day (Youth and Adult contests) as follows:
--All contestants will be ranked on a scale of 1-5 for each area; Craftsmanship, Performance and Accuracy. The judges will compare scores and an average will be taken of their various scores, and prizes will be awarded based on these.
SMALL RULES TO FOLLOW
To Cosplayers, no 'real weapons' meaning sharp edged objects made of any metals. Plastic, rubber, fake weapons are fine, no problems there. No Nudity! Shirts off on males is fine. Scantily clad is fine (yeah that means underwear if your costume calls for it), just no nudies (Exp. Yes putting tape on your nipples pretty much nude, you'll be asked to cover up). Weapons will be checked at the door. No big rules, just follow the basic ones.
